CHILDREN OF BODOM Extend SPINEFARM Deal
August 16, 2005According to a posting at the CHILDREN OF BODOM fan site Scythes-Of-Bodom.com, CHILDREN OF BODOM have signed a three-album extension to their deal with Spinefarm Records. Theo Roos, the head of Universal Music Scandinavia and Benelux, commented on the new deal, "We are very excited and happy that CHILDREN OF BODOM have decided to (re)sign for a longer time with our Spinefarm label for the world!"
In other news, more details have surfaced about the bonus DVD that will accompany the limited-edition Japanese version of the group's new CD, "Are You Dead Yet?". The DVD will reportedly include "making of" footage for the band's "Are You Dead Yet?" video called "COBHC - All Night Long" and a live clip of "Angels Don't Kill", filmed in 2003 in Tokyo, Japan. The second audio bonus track on the Japanese version of the album will be a cover of the POISON song "Talk Dirty to Me".
Contrary to previously published reports, the track "Trashed, Lost & Strungout" was NOT re-recorded for the group's upcoming album. The band changed their minds and decided that re-recording the vocals and leads for the new CD was unnecessary. Therefore, "Are You Dead Yet?" will contain the previously released version of the song.
"Are You Dead Yet?" is scheduled for release on September 14 in Finland and September 19 in the rest of the world.
CHILDREN OF BODOM mastered "Are You Dead Yet?" on June 6 at Finnvox studios in Helsinki following a six-week recording/mixing session with producer Mikko Karmila.
